Transplant Information and Support

Second Wind:
Second Wind Lung Transplant Association, Inc. was formed on April 17, 1995, by a small group of people who wanted to provide information about lung transplantation to others. At that time lung transplantation was evolving from an experimental and rarely applied treatment to becoming a more common therapy for end-stage lung disease

Trio:
TRIO is an independent, not-for-profit, international organization committed to improving the quality of life of transplant candidates, recipients, their families and the families of organ and tissue donors.

General Transplant Fundraising Organizations
Both of these organizations provide support and coordination of your fundraising efforts for transplant. There are some differences between the organizations.

National Foundation for Transplants (NFT):
Since 1983, NFT has offered fundraising assistance for organ and tissue transplant patients across the country, tailoring our efforts to best suit each individual. Our fundraising campaigns have generated nearly $59 million to assist patients during their transplant journey. Because NFT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, you can rest assured that we handle all funds appropriately and responsibly.

(National Transplant Assistance Fund (NTAF)
NTAF helps families address financial hardships arising from uninsured medical expenses related to transplantation (solid organ, bone marrow, stem cell or tissue) and catastrophic injury (spinal cord, traumatic brain).
